Decentralized perp trading now spans a wide set of venues. Hyperliquid , Aster , ApeX , dYdX , Lighter , and Based drive most of the activity, while MetaMask Perps ,Ostium , EveDex , Ranger Finance , HyperETH , Titan , Extended , Rails , Trade XYZ , SuperX , ChainPro , Trade.fun , Axiom , edgeX , Decibel , DeCA , HyperSui , and Phantom add further depth to the DEX ecosystem ⚡

Within this environment, two platforms stand apart for their approach to fees: Avantis , which applies fees only when trades end in profit, and Paradex , which applies true zero-fee trading.

BasePerp is being developed with a similar focus on zero-fee execution. Positions are meant to open and close at no cost, and fees apply only when a trade ends in profit. The platform is being built to settle directly on Base , with public testnet planned ahead of the Q3 2026 mainnet launch.
